The story starts out when Darrin and Marybeth meet as kids and skips forward a few times to show them together as friends until current time. Darrin always meant for them to become more than friends when they got older but the timing never seemed right and when it should have been, Darrin just couldn't get up the nerve to tell Marybeth how he felt about her. Darrin told her the first day they met that he was going to keep her and they were best friends ever since. Darrin and Marybeth met when they were only 7 years old. Darrin is a Bradford and works for his uncle's construction company. Marybeth has known the Bradfords since she met Darrin the day her family moved next door to his. This caused her to lose her focus and she ended up dropping out of high school and dropping out, getting her GED later. When Marybeth was 15 she found out that she had medical issues that kept her from having kids. Marybeth works as a construction foreman (or should I say foreperson) at the Bradford construction company. The story was disjointed and confusing and I just wasn't very happy with what was done with the plot. At first, I thought Darrin and Marybeth were alright but by the end, I really didn't like Marybeth at all. The narrator was good, I just think she needs some help on the dad voices, she has them sounding like they are 80 year old men.Ģ-2.5 stars **Fair warning, I'll probably let a couple spoilers out in this review** So.I found this addition to the series to be disappointing. Marybeth’s playing the martyr over and over and over and over was incredibly annoying. One of the first signs of endometriosis is pain during intercourse.

And, at what point did you forget that if her endometriosis was that bad where she was getting a hysterectomy among other things, she managed to have painless sex. Can you please tell me how the Drs also seem to be her gynos? Did they have specialties out of the same office no less without speaking of them. This book particularly grated on my nerves. Literally, she is writing the exact same male and female leads with one or two quirks that make them slightly different from her previous ones. Mathewson to be funny but after what I think is book 4 of this series that I’ve read, I also find the characters one dimensional and the running jokes getting old.
